Yo, Legends of Dionysos is a sick 2.5D Action RPG that blends RPG elements with fast-paced gameplay and throws hordes of enemies at you. I’m Max, a solo indie dev from Germany. A few years ago, I ditched my day job to chase my childhood dream of making games. I turned an old ambulance into my cozy living and workspace, aka "The Gaming Van." I spent summers in nature, grinding away on my first commercial game, "Legends of Dionysos," and after three years of hard work, it's finally here! So, what inspired me to create Legends of Dionysos and blend RPG elements with fast-paced action in a 2.5D world? Since I was a kid, I always wanted a game that mixed the intensity of games like Street Fighter, Metal Slug, Sonic, and Super Mario with the depth of RPGs like Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, and Diablo. Legends of Dionysos combines the best of both worlds, with the speed and excitement of beat 'em ups, plus character progression and loot from RPGs. In Legends of Dionysos, you’re not tied to specific classes. Your skills change based on the weapon you’re wielding. As you progress, you’ll pick up different weapons, each with unique skills and spells. The combat’s all about switching weapons on the fly to handle different situations, manage cooldowns, and use crowd control or offensive/defensive spells. The attribute system is unique too—every stat benefits you, so you can tailor your playstyle without worrying about class restrictions. The game also features arena events for an extra layer of challenge and excitement. You’ll face waves of enemies and a boss, with a guaranteed weapon drop if you succeed.
These arenas can be replayed at various difficulty levels, with higher keystones bringing tougher enemies and bosses, but also better loot, more gold, and more experience. Character customization in Legends of Dionysos is purely cosmetic but adds depth and makes each playthrough unique. You can choose between humans and cats, with lots of hair options and body morphs. Go wild with colorful hair tones and funny-looking characters, or keep it simple—it’s up to you. Designed with hardcore gamers in mind, the game includes optional permadeath and speedrun modes, complete with a built-in timer and local high score board.
